>> Our school in the national arena << ***25-07-11r.***

In June, the Polish Association of Russian Language Teachers with the co-operation of a school publishing house Wydawnictwo Szkolne PWN, the Russian learning and culture centre Rosyjski Ośrodek Nauki i Kultury in Warsaw, the organizations MAPRYAL and RUSSKIY MIR announced the results of the three Russian language competitions in which our school was very successful. In the national competition for the best school in the field of teaching Russian with the motto: Let's learn Russian, our school was rewarded with the special award, that is a trip to Saint Petersburg for the school's headmaster. Our Russian language teacher Ms Anna Makarewicz received the main award in the form of the didactic equipment to the Russian laboratory by taking part in the competition for the Russian language teachers for the best synopsis of a lesson entitled "A HUMAN AND THE SPACE" (50 years of humans in the space). Another group of students got the main award in the national competition entitled "A guide of Saint Petersburg" which is a week-long trip to this city. These students were: Karolina Czubaj (1c), Emilia Dziatłowska (1g) for their work entitled "Piter-song" and Natalia Skorys (2e) with Michał Lipiński (2e) for the work entitled "A guide of Saint Petersburg in poems". The special rewards were given to Julia Borejsza, Halszka Hołubowicz and Agnieszka Barczuk from class 2g. Ms Anna Makarewicz was also presented with the main award for a teacher in the form of a trip to Saint Petersburg. Congratulations.


"Mam Haka na Raka" or Let's don't give lung cancer a chance!

The students from class 2b of our school Bartosz Furmaniak, Piotr Horoszewicz, Anna Misiołek, Maja Mospinek, Mikołaj Szulak and Mrs Dorota Kowaleńko as their Biology teacher, took part in the Fourth Edition of a National Programme for Young People "Mam Haka na Raka". 690 competing teams took part in the edition devoted to lung cancer, which unfortunately constitutes the most common cancer-like cause of death among the people from Poland. The students actively participated in the process of promoting pro-healthy attitude by taking actions in the local environment. Our team together with other 88 teams were qualified to the second stage of the programme owing to their creativity and devotion. The students took part in the Creative Workshop On-line and learned some arcane of creating social campaigns. As a result, they made use of the gained knowledge in order to create their own social campaign, that is they designed a poster, a TV and radio commercials, which encourage people to participate in preventive screening connected with lung cancer. The Final Gala took place in Centrum Expo in Warsaw on June 11, 2011. Then, the winning projects for the social campaign promoting the prevention of lung cancer were demonstrated. Our students were presented with some diplomas and gifts for their active participation and supporting the idea of early prevention in the Fourth Edition of a National Programme for Young People "Mam Haka na Raka".

On April 13 and 14, 2011, that is on the 50th anniversary of a space flight made by the first human, Jurij Gagarin, in Łódź, there was the First National Festival of the Russian Song organized for students of junior high schools as well as high schools. The motto of the festival was: From the tradition to the present time. 160 participants, with the representatives of our school among them, were chosen from 450 applications sent to the festival qualification stage. The jury composed of some professional musicians, artists and the Russian language specialists listened to 85 songs performed by the festival participants from Poland. In the category of duet, the girls from our school Marta Paszkowska and Karolina Czarnacka (1h) took the second place. What is more important, however, is the fact that these students were presented with the special award in the form of a trip to Saint Petersburg in October this year. Ms Anna Makarewicz led these girls to their success in his field.


>> The graduates' farewell << ***15-05-11r.***

The official farewell of the graduates took place on 29 April, 2011. Firstly, the school choir led by Mr Stanisław Mikołajczyk sang the Polish national anthem, the representatives took a swear on behalf of all the graduates. They promised to be open in order to develop their personality and continue the school's traditions. Our headmaster Mr Przemysław Olesiejuk summarized the three-year long education of the graduates, concerning their successes. Two students:
1. Horbowicz Patrycja
2. Szaciłło Izabela
got the average notes 5.31 and became the best students of this school year. 30 students got the average notes 4.75 and more. The "Kraszak" award 2011 went to ten graduates, who achieved the average notes 5.0 and more during their education at this school. 5 graduates got the awards for the successes in particular subject contests on the central stage. Marcin Bobruk from class 3e was also awarded due to the fact that he did not leave even one lesson during his three-year long education. 8 students received awards for their social activities, and 51 students for sports achievements. The students from class 1g and 2e, together with their teachers Ms Jadwiga Nestorowicz and Ms Danuta Malinowska, prepared a light-hearted farewell performance. What is more, the students from class 1f and 1h, together with their teachers Ms Marzena Mikulska and Mr Stefan Wrzosek, commemorated The Third of May Constitution with a short performance.


>> The Third Slavonic Competition Finals << ***20-04-11r.***

The second stage of the Third Slavonic Competition took place on March 8, 2011, in Biała Podlaska, while the finals were in High School bearing the name of Władysław Zawadzki in Wisznice on April 7, 2011. The contestants demonstrated the variety of culture, customs and traditions, in the chosen country such as: Belarus, Bulgaria, the Czech Republik, Russia, Ukraine. Two teams from our school took the first and the second places. The first place went to Emilia Dziatłowska 1g, Dominika Toczyńska 1g, Karolina Czubaj 1c (tutor Anna Makarewicz), while Katarzyna Jowik 1e, Kinga Tokarz 1e got the second place thanks to their presentation "The Czech farewell with the carnival" (tutor Ms Anna Chomicz). Congratulations!!!


>> The Open Day in our school << ***18-04-11r.***

The Open Day in our school took place on Saturday, April 16. The sounds of the famous song "We are the champions" performed by the school band entertained the guests. The interested candidates could see the classrooms, labs, the library, school club, gym and the swimming pool. The students of our school with the help of their teachers presented their didactic, artistic and sports abilities. The students of junior high schools took part in Physics, Chemistry and Biology experiments, watched multimedia presentations, displays, research projects, and the first aid presentations. Our artists recited the poems and sang songs in foreign languages. The young people of our school performed the play "The legend of the Wawel Castle Dragon" in French, which was also presented in Spain in connection with the Comenius project. The school theatre "Escargot" staged "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by W. Shakespeare. The guests participated in many competitions and didactic games as well as sports activities.

The previous weeks were a time of the final stages of subject competitions and outstanding achievements of our students. The following people succeeded in: Dominik Michoński - Winner of the French Language Competition, tutor Ms Anna Furmaniak, Dominik was also qualified to the central stage of the English Language Competition, tutor Ms Elżbieta Mirek; Weronika Wołosiuk - Finalist of the Literature and the Polish Language Competition, tutor Ms Mariola Sewestianiuk; Agnieszka Kwiatkowska - Finalist of the Biology Competition, tutor Ms Dorota Kowaleńko; Sebastian Maciejczyk - Finalist of the contest concerning the knowledge of Poland and the compulsory world, tutor Mr Jarosław Radecki, Patrycja Horbowicz - was qualified to the central stage of the Russian Language Competition, tutor Ms Anna Kukawska; Karolina Czubaj and Emilia Dziatłowska - were qualified to the central stage of the Russian Language Competition, tutor Ms Anna Makarewicz; Michał Sikora - was qualified to the central stage of the Economics Competition, tutor Mr Ireneusz Maj. Some prominent awards in the competition finals organized by Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and some Lublin Voivodeship scientific organizations went to: Emilia Dziatłowska, Karolina Czubaj, Dominika Toczyńska - first place in the Third Slavonic Competition, tutor Ms Anna Makarewicz, Katarzyna Jowik, Kinga Tokarz - second place in the Third Slavonic Competition, tutor Ms Anna Chomicz, Iwona Burda - second place in the Third Edition of the competition entitled "Language in use" , tutor Ms Grażyna Kossowska, Piotr Horoszewicz - first place, and Agnieszka Kwiatkowska - third place in the Biochemical Competition, tutor Ms Dorota Kowaleńko; Żaklina Szewczuk - finalist of the International Competition of the Creative Work "The First in the Space", tutor Ms Urszula Jajus (the student will be presented with the award in Moscow), Izabela Dziwińska and Aleksandra Wiszniewska - were qualified to the First National Final of the Russian Song entitled "The Earth in an Illuminator"; Cezary Siłuszyk got the third place in the Fifth International Information Technology "Bóbr", tutor Mr Remigiusz Torenc.
